HE IS RISEN, HALLELUJAH, CHRIST IS ALIVE!  On this special Sunday, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Today, we gather to remember the greatest Event on the Christian Calendar.  This spectacular story is a story of the life giving resurrection that the Risen Christ brings into the life of every believer.  His conquering of the grave and His Victory of death offers a life giving opportunity of hope to all who accept Him as their Savior and Lord.  Our challenge is to live in the power of His resurrection through word and deed.  He is Risen for you, accept the power that He brings. WE OFFER A WARM WELCOME TO ALL OF OUR VISITORS.  Especially, we Welcome the pastors, ministers and members of the Tabernacle Congregations who gather to celebrate the Resurrection Event and to conclude the celebration of The Lenten Fellowship for 2007 during our Sunrise Service.  We lift of prayers and support for the preacher of 6:00 a.m. worship service, The Rev. George Woodruff, Pastor of First AME Church here in the City of San Francisco. As a visitor to Bethel, it does not matter whether you are a first time visitor or you have been in our fellowship one or many times before, we say WELCOME!  As members in the Community of Faith, we share our common concern for the spiritual health of those in and around our community; therefore, if you do not have active membership in a Christian Church in the Bay Area, please accept our invitation to join Bethel for Spiritual growth and Christian Fellowship.  Come Help Us Make A Difference In Our Community!   WELCOME TO BETHEL!

RESURRECTION SUNDAY

Resurrection Sunday is a time when we all should reflect on Christ's life and crucifixion.  This is an event we should never forget.

His death was not some fictional story. Picture if you will those passing judgement on him, as He humbly remained still.  Very few sought true repentance.

His death was their priority.  Just as it was foretold,  they fail to recognize His authority.  His teaching was downright to bold and radicals for these people.  Imagine anyone in their right mind claiming to be the Son Of God, in the midst of a group of religious leaders of their time. Even today some might find that odd. How could such a man be so prodigious?

He came and did so much for man.  His coming gave us light.  The crucifixion  was part of His Master Plan.  And darkness would be removed from our sight.

So now the sentence was passed. He was to be crucified.  They thought  this day would be His last.  In their minds they saw Him defeated. While the believers hearts were grieved. Yet some stood around quite conceited. Thinking their purpose would be achieved.

As they gazed at the cross. Unaware of the position they were in. Maybe His death would be our loss?  Instead it paid the price for our sin.

Now as they laid Him in the tomb. It was said, in three days He'd rise. So now in their minds they're consumed. But three days later they were totally surprised.

So as we sit back and reflect. Let's truly thank God as we pray. For His death had a miraculous affect.

That's Why We Worship This Resurrection Sunday.
