The charter members of Bethel A.M.E. Federal Credit Union of San Francisco witnessed the signing of the charter on July 28, 1969. They started with 18 members and $447 in shares.

Pioneers of the credit union envisioned an institution where the members and their families could grow economically without the difficulties they may encounter at other lending institutions.

Over the years the credit union has grown tremendously in funds and membership and continues to adhere to its motto of “People Helping People” not for profit, not for charity, but for service to the members.

All transactions made with this credit union are confidential. The Credit Committee feels that protection of the member’s private and personal affairs is essential, therefore, each transaction is held in the strictest confidence.
